Shooting at Minneapolis Catholic Church Leaves Two Children Dead

A shooting at the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis on August 27, 2025, resulted in the deaths of two children, aged 8 and 10, and injuries to 15 other children and three adults. The shooter, a 23-year-old man who identified as a woman, reportedly opened fire during a mass attended by families and children.

Cathrine Spandel, a parishioner present during the incident, recounted her experience, saying she prayed with the children's pastoral minister as they sought protection amid the violence.
