Corrections & Updates
Accuracy is our first obligation. When we discover an error, we correct it quickly and clearly. This page explains how we classify changes and how to request a correction.
Our Policy
- Material errors (facts, figures, names, attributions) are corrected with a labeled note at the end of the article and the Updated timestamp is changed.
- Clarifications improve wording or add context when the original was accurate but could be misread. These are labeled as “Clarification.”
- Routine updates (e.g., new quotes, additional sourcing, developing news) are marked “Updated” with a short note when they materially advance the story.
- Minor copyedits that don’t change meaning (spelling, punctuation) may be made silently.
- Transparency: We preserve the original meaning of headlines and note substantive headline changes in the update note.
How Corrections Appear
Corrections and clarifications are placed at the foot of the story under a “Correction” or “Update” heading, with a brief description of what changed. The article shows both Published and Updated timestamps near the byline.
Request a Correction
If you believe we’ve made an error, email hello@thelibertytribune.com with:
- The article title and URL
- The exact passage you believe is incorrect
- What you believe is correct, with documentation or links to primary sources
- Your name and contact information
Our editors review every request. If a correction or clarification is warranted, we will update the article and note the change.
You can also reach us via the Contact page.
Versioning & Archives
We retain internal records of significant revisions. When a story changes materially after publication, the update note summarizes what changed. For questions about a specific change, contact the editors.
